The best way to get there is to fly to St.
Maarten (St Martin), a neighboring French/Dutch
Island (SXM). We recommend booking
on American Airlines, which has
the most frequent flights and usually the best
rates. You can try www.aa.com
for flights to St. Maarten. Flights vary from
$400 to over $600. At this time, flights are very
high we suggest waiting a few weeks until the
rates go down. Alex and I are monitoring the flights
on orbitz and will notify you when we see the
rates decrease. You can also try using frequent
flyer miles which most airlines will honor during
the summer months
Other airlines that also fly into St. Maarten
are USAIR, Delta, Continental, and United
Air France, Corsair, Alitalia, and KLM have regular
flights to St Maarten from Europe.
You can also check into flights to San Juan,
Puerto Rico. There are often connecting flights
from San Juan to St. Maarten which might be a
It's best to book an earlier flight to St Maarteen,
then you are ready to book the next leg of your
trip either by plane or by ferry boat.
From St. Maarten, WINAIR, Air Cara•bes,
and St-Barth Commuter, make the
10 minute shuttle flight to St. Barth
(SBH). Alex and I have secured a group rate of
$138 dollars for Winnair.
If a connecting flight is not the way you want
to go we suggest the Rapid Explorer
which is a high speed ferry boat. It costs around
$89 euros round trip per person. You will need
to take a taxi from St. Maarten airport to Philipsburg
Ferry Station to get to the Rapid Explorer Ferry.
The taxi ride will take up to 40 minutes due to
the heavy traffic in St. Maarten. The Rapid Explorer
Ferry leaves everyday at 5:00.

Air Cara•bes also has several flights a

St. Barth Commuter
Telephone is 011 590 590 27 54 58 or www.stbarthcommuter.com
When you arrive in St. Maarten you will go through
customs. Don't forget your passport. If you are
a US citizen you do not need a visa. If you are
not a US citizen check with the French Consulate
you will probably need a visa. You are just passing
through St. Maarten going to St. Barths you are
"in transit". When you have passed customs
you will collect your luggage at the baggage claim.
You will then exit the building. On the right
there is the taxi stand. If you are taking the
Ferry this is where you will catch your taxi.
However, if you are connecting to the commuter
plane continue straight into the adjoining building
where the commuter check-in is located.
St. Jean Airport
Directions from St. Jean Airport:
The airport is near St. Jean, so are 3 hotels
on the list, beach, restaurants and shopping (at
the top middle of map). Your hotel provides free
shuttle service to and from the airport - don't
forget to let them know when you make your reservation.
If you are renting a car, the agencies are on
premise and very easy to locate. They will provide
you with a map and directions to your hotel. St.Barths
is basically round so it's not easy to get lost.
Le Sereno Hotel is located at Grandd Cul de Sac
(see map below)
The ferry arrives at GUSTAVIA
the main port and main town with lots of shopping,
anchored yachts and great restaurants. That's
where the rehearsal dinner will be. (lower left
